BTS’s ‘Break the Silence: The Movie’ Knocks Off Shin Min A’s ‘Diva’
Break the Silence: The movie starring BTS has topped the domestic box office.

According to the Korea Box-Office Information System (KOBIS), Break the Silence: The Movie became the No. 1 film at the box office by attracting 21,586 moviegoers on September 24, the day of its release.

Break the Silence: The Movie is a documentary film that follows BTS as they become the first Korean act to perform at the Wembley Stadium in London and top the Billboard Boxscore chart. The documentary shows the human side of the group’s members behind the stage as they tour the world on their stadium tour.

With BTS’s documentary becoming the No. 1 film in the country, Diva starring Shin Min A has dropped to the No. 2 spot. The film brought in 13,578 moviegoers on Thursday, and has brought in a total of 29,312 viewers to date.

In third was Tenet, which attracted 11,925 viewers and brought its total number of viewers to 1,591,790. The Swordsman starring Jang Hyuk dropped two spots, putting the film in fourth. The film sold 11,479 tickets on Thursday, and has amassed 25,303 moviegoers since its release.

Rounding out the top five was Disney’s Mulan, which brought in 5,721 moviegoers on Thursday. The film has drawn a total of 187,718 moviegoers to date.
